BetterSea and GTT Marine are integrating FuelEU Maritime trading and pooling into GTT Marine’s Vesper Insights platform, giving shipowners and operators access to compliance analysis, transactions and reporting from one system. The partnership brings marketplace access, simulation, pooling and post-trade functions into an existing vessel performance platform as FuelEU compliance becomes a commercial and operational task.

BetterSea and GTT Marine have agreed a white-label integration that will allow GTT Marine customers to execute FuelEU Maritime trading and pooling directly through the Vesper Insights platform.

BetterSea provides a FuelEU compliance platform and marketplace, while GTT Marine is a business unit of the GTT Group focused on vessel performance and maritime technology. Under the agreement, BetterSea’s infrastructure will be integrated into Vesper Insights rather than requiring users to operate separate systems.

The combined service will include access to BetterSea’s FuelEU marketplace, simulation tools, pooling and post-trade workflows, pool tracking and Thetis reporting.

The simulation functions will allow users to compare compliance routes under different regulatory scenarios and assess potential costs before executing transactions. The platform will then support the subsequent trading, pooling and reporting processes.

That creates a more direct link between compliance analysis and commercial execution. Shipowners, operators and charterers can use the same digital environment to assess their FuelEU exposure, explore available options and complete transactions.

Maximilian Schroer, Co-CEO, BetterSea, said: “This partnership with GTT Marine marks an important step in our mission to make FuelEU compliance and pooling easier to access and execute, while underlining BetterSea’s position as the market leading FuelEU marketplace.”

Christian Treu, VP Revenue, GTT Marine, said: “At GTT Marine, we are committed to equipping our customers with practical and high-value solutions for the decarbonisation transition. Through this partnership with BetterSea, we can offer our users direct access to a complete FuelEU execution framework, from simulation to trading, pooling, and reporting, directly via our platform.”

The integration shows how FuelEU software is moving beyond emissions monitoring into the commercial processes needed to manage compliance. For fleet managers, that means bringing regulatory data, financial decisions and transaction workflows closer together within existing vessel performance systems.
