KICKSTER links FuelEU pooling with EUA trading in digital compliance platform

KICKSTER GROUP has added EU Allowance (EUA) trading requests to its FuelEU Maritime marketplace, giving shipping companies a digital route from emissions calculation to market quotation within the same platform. The integration brings FuelEU pooling and EU ETS activity into one workflow, giving shipowners and managers another tool to assess and manage European emissions exposure.

KICKSTER GROUP has expanded its FUELEU MARKETPLACE with an EUA Request-for-Quote service, allowing registered users to request quotations to buy or sell EUAs through the platform.

The service is provided through a regulated intermediary. Users submit transaction requirements through a dedicated RFQ workflow and receive a quotation from a qualified trading counterparty, subject to KYC and onboarding requirements.

The addition is aimed at a practical issue for shipowners and managers. FuelEU Maritime and the EU Emissions Trading System remain separate regulatory frameworks, but shipping companies operating in Europe need to account for both when planning their emissions compliance and associated costs.

KICKSTER’s approach brings the two activities into the same digital environment. Its integrated FuelEU and EUA Calculator sits alongside the new RFQ function, allowing users to assess regulatory exposure before requesting an EUA quotation.

“Our objective has always been to simplify the way maritime companies understand and manage increasingly complex environmental compliance obligations. FuelEU pooling remains at the heart of the Marketplace, but our users are managing FuelEU and EU ETS exposure at the same time. Integrating an EUA RFQ service is therefore a natural evolution: users can assess their position, access the market and manage different compliance needs from one environment”, said Pietro Valaguzza, CEO of KICKSTER GROUP.

KICKSTER launched its FUELEU MARKETPLACE in March 2026, initially targeting a fragmented FuelEU pooling market through digital workflows, price transparency and aggregation of market participants. Since then, it has added market alerts and API access to live marketplace data.

The latest addition keeps FuelEU pooling as the marketplace’s core function rather than turning the platform into a multi-product exchange. Instead, EUA trading access sits alongside calculation and compliance tools.

“The next stage of digital compliance is not simply adding more information. It is connecting information with action. Our ambition is to reduce the distance between understanding an exposure and being able to manage it efficiently”, said Valaguzza.

That connection could matter as emissions compliance becomes a recurring commercial task rather than a calculation performed in isolation. KICKSTER’s model brings assessment, market access and transaction workflows into one digital environment, with the trading counterparty retaining responsibility for the EUA transaction itself.
